Tender’s watch reel is hand turned in England from a solid block of oak. The shape is judged by eye, without a jig, as it spins on the lathe, so each piece is unique. A lost wax-cast brass jeans button is set into the top of each piece. The watch reel allows a wrist watch to be kept safe on a nightstand, and keeps the dial visible, on its side, to be seen whilst lying down.
The shape is inspired by Victorian solid wooden cotton reels, which had a wide top and base to keep the thread in place, and a hole drilled through the centre to allow them to be set onto a sewing machine.
With an outer diameter of approximately 3½” (9cm) and an inner diameter of 2″ (5cm), the watch reel will comfortably accommodate a watch on a buckled strap or a bracelet, including all GS/TP watches.
