TYPE 920 RAILWAY COLLAR JACKET
The Railway Collar Jacket is cut across a piece of selvage denim, so that the longest pattern piece is the width of the fabric roll. The neck is faced on the inside, with the stitch lines on the outside giving the effect of a collar, and the bottom edge of the body is unhemmed, showing the denim selvage line. The short body and high armholes are inspired by early 20th Century sleeved waistcoats and work jackets.
This style is cut with the shoulder seam slipped to the back, and joined up in a single seam with the sleeves. A small ‘fork piece’ is seamed into the back, with a selvage seam showing in the back of the jacket.
