BY-PRODUCTS

Oral history has it that workers in the wool processing mills of 19th Century Britain had particularly soft hands. Raw fleece was cleaned and sorted by hand, and the natural oils found in wool that keep it healthy and water repellent were rubbed into the workers’ skin. Tender’s soaps and salves are made with this natural wool oil, a by-product of the textile industry.

Mutton tallow, a meat industry by-product, is used during the final stages of bark tanning Tender’s specially made hides to dubbin the leather, making it supple and weatherproof.
